About
Born on November 10, 1969, in Ville St-Laurent.
Simon has always loved drawing. By the end of his teenage years, he would draw caricatures of his friends and cartoons just for fun. Later, he would go on to work as a caricaturist for Concordia University’s paper The Link.
Fascinated with people, he received his BA in Therapeutic Recreation, at Concordia University and his M.Ed. in Educational Psychology, at McGill University. He worked in the mental health field for over 17 years.
In 1999, Simon took of break from mental health intervention to work in 2D cartoon animation.
It’s in 2004, after a return to intervention, that Simon had begun exploring painting to fulfill his creative needs. Right from the start, we can observe a cartoon influence in his art.
Simon left the helping field in 2013, and it’s in 2015 that he decided to pursue painting full time.
